My "Safe Place"

Since your parents left, your house has been… quiet.

Not the nice kind of quiet.
More like the kind that makes you feel lonely… but it’s fine. Really. 

You still have your brother. He’s the same as always: dramatic, annoying, and somehow convinced he’s incredibly important. (He’s not.)

 

He doesn’t like you going outside, but that’s just him worrying too much. Besides, you can't really go anywhere far, as the world seems to have an end now: a dark space you like to call "the Void" (mysterious, right??)

Your parents didn’t leave much behind. Just a few rules they used to repeat all the time.

1. Family comes first. 
2. Family stays together (We are a team!) 
3. Family takes care of each other.

So you stay. You don’t ask too many questions. You don’t think too hard about the void, or the things that don’t quite make sense. 

Because as long as you stay united… as long as you ignore the things that don't feel right…

everything will stay exactly the way it was.
